Simply stated, Now On View celebrates and showcases the artists of Society6 and their work. Get to know them—and then get lost in their gallery.
As a way of introducing yourself, who are you and what do you do?
I’m Denyse, a generally-caffeinated designer & illustrator originally from Perú, working as an Art Director by day and a whimsical creator by night. I love to make things in all mediums, techniques and with lots of colors. I have recently ventured into sewing and 3D art; they are both equally hard but experimenting keeps me creative. I am obsessed with creating intricate surface patterns, fashionable animals, beautiful ladies, and even making GIF loops, because why stop with one category?
Current city: Deep in the woods of Bridgewater, NJ.
How did you make these?
Illustrator and Photoshop are my go-to tools for easier editing/adjusting to the different surfaces, but I sketch and paint a lot with inks and acrylics to warm up and come up with ideas.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Aside from the usual (books, traveling, music), I love going to antique stores and ethnic supermarkets, they are filled with unique and colorful things that just energize me and push me to want to tell stories through my art.
What is the best advice you’ve gotten as an artist or the most important thing you’ve learned?
Be brave, be bold but most importantly be kind.
Where can people find you?
