Simply stated, Now On View celebrates and showcases the artists of Society6 and their work. Get to know them—and then get lost in their gallery.
Who are you and what do you do? I’m Dewey Bryan Saunders and I specialize in album artwork, and working in a variety of media with a cut-and-paste, handmade-collage approach.
Current city: Los Angeles, CA
Clients: Future, Anderson .Paak, Ray-Ban, The Fader
How did you make these? By hand using paper, an X-ACTO blade, and glue.
Why did you make these? Collages are currently my favorite medium. They involve many [types of] media and can cover a wide spectrum of images; and [they can] make connections between imagery that have never existed before. My main goal is to provide the viewer with a sense of magical realism and to create extraordinary circumstances and surreal phenomenons with a psychedelic undertone.
What do people typically say about your work? People initially talk about the color in my work, which is made of bright, tropical colors and hazy pastels. I think people like when I’m telling a story through combinations of certain imagery; that’s why I love the radical juxtapositions that collaging allows.
