Could you introduce yourself?
Hi! My name is Alyssa M. Gonzalez and I’m a little ray of sunshine and I’m currently a graphic designer at Hallmark Cards. I spend the rest of my time doing freelance illustration work.
Current city: Kansas City, Missouri–home of great BBQ!
What’s your process?
It’s all digital drawing with either Photoshop or Procreate. (Many people think I work in Illustrator because of the clean shapes, but if you look closely there is texture. I like the act of drawing more than achieving a perfect shape!)
Why did you make these?
I like to make sunshiney things! Especially now living in a city where the winters are long, this is important to me for my mission to others.
What do people typically say about your work?
A comment I used to get a lot in college, and still get a lot today, is “This is so cute!” I feel if I’ve at least made someone smile or go “awww,” I’ve done my job.
