A new Society6.com is here!
We’re excited to unveil our completely redesigned website, shaped by valuable feedback from both our artists and customers. This redesign is more than just a visual update, we’ve focused on including more ways to feature artists throughout the site and have enhanced the overall user experience to allow for more discoverability and therefore, more sales opportunities. Keep reading below to explore what’s new and what’s to come.
Just Launched: An All-New Shopping Experience
Our new website is now live! This is the first phase and the culmination of months of hard work behind the scenes by our product and engineering teams. The website redesign streamlines and transforms the art discovery and shopping experience on Society6 by better highlighting artists while addressing some of the shopping pain points from the previous website. This marks just the beginning of our improvements, with more improved tools and features for artists coming soon.
Key Features of the New Site:
– New, elevated customer experience & site design
– Shoppable images and learning content throughout the site
– More prominent features of Society6 Artists throughout the site
– Improved navigation with a more intuitive site structure
– Enhanced product filtering and search options
– Streamlined product pages that combine multiple options into a single product page
– New and improved checkout experience
– Redesigned Artist Shops
Just Launched: Redesigned Artist Shops
We’re also thrilled to announce the launch of our redesigned Artist Shops, part of a sweeping update across our platform aimed at boosting sales and prominently showcasing our artist community. While these changes touch nearly every corner of our website, we want to emphasize that Artist Shops remain a work in progress. Currently, artists can’t modify their shop pages, but don’t worry – this limitation is temporary. We’re hard at work developing new tools within Artist Studio that will allow you to personalize your shop and add unique content that reflects your artistic persona. These exciting features are just around the corner, and we can’t wait to share more details with you soon.
Key Features of the New Artist Shops:
– Updated layout with a new “About” homepage to better highlight you and your designs
Note: the “About the Artist” section is currently missing your artist bio. If you previously had a bio, this will automatically display here soon.
– New “Featured Artwork” carousel where three designs of your choosing can be prominently showcased
Note: The artwork included in this section will be customizable once Artist Shop editing becomes available.
– New “Best Sellers” section that displays your top selling products based on your sales data
– Improved and expanded filtering within your shop to help customers better find what they’re looking for
– The Shop page now defaults to a new “Relevance” option, which is optimized for both performance and user experience and is determined by several factors that indicate that a product will be most pertinent to a customer
– Favorites have been removed from the Artist Shop
Note: Collections and Favorites are currently under development. These features are not available right now, but will return as private to artists once launched. Any previous favorites data will be saved.
– Your shop has a new URL. Your shop URL will now follow this format: society6.com/a/artists/username
Note: previous shop URLs should automatically redirect to the new URL. If that is not the case, please reach out to us here.
How We Approached Our Redesign
Prior to any development taking place, we conducted several rounds of research, taking into consideration best practices and key friction points in the consumer journey that were making our customers frustrated. For example, customers who were interested in a specific Art Print struggled to find a way to purchase the Art Print with a frame. We’ve directly addressed this by merging Art Prints and Framed Art Prints into a single product detail page and better highlighting additional products on which specific designs are available. We’ve also merged together Canvas Prints and Framed Canvas Prints and Mini Art Prints and Framed Mini Art Prints.
One of the other challenges we heard from customers in our research is that they are looking for ideas to be inspired by and help kick start their search. We’ve addressed this by infusing more inspirational and aspirational designs, themes, and trends throughout the site to help customers at every point in their shopping journey better find the perfect piece to add to their lives.
“The most important thing in our redesign process was talking face-to-face with our customers. This allowed us to best understand what their friction points are in their shopping journey and how Society6 can architect a delightfully inspirational experience. You can see this in how we approached our new user experience and design, which we further validated through user testing before we started to develop the new site you see today.”
– Brit Tucker, Vice President of Product & Technology at Society6

Artist Questions Answered
As we continue to fine tune the changes we’ve made to the new site experience, there are a few important updates for artists to keep in mind.
Q: How do I login to the Artist Studio?
A: Artist Studio has a new link and you can login directly here. Please note, with our move to Shopify, when logging in from the homepage you will need to login to Shopify prior to logging into Artist Studio. For more details, please visit our FAQ here. These steps are temporary and soon you will be able to login directly to your Artist Studio from the homepage.
Q: How do I make updates to my new Artist Shop page?
A: Access to edit Artist Shops is currently unavailable as we transition to the new Artist Studio. We will be sharing updates and a detailed overview of the new Artist Shop features as soon as editing becomes available.
Q: Did my Artist Shop URL change?
A: To improve overall site performance, we have updated the URLs associated with Artist Shops. If you already had an active Artist Shop prior to the launch of the new site you may continue to share your previous shop URL as it will automatically direct to your new URL. Your affiliate links still work when applied to both your previous URL and new URL.
Previous Artist Shop URL format: society6.com/username
New Artist Shop URL format: society6.com/a/artists/username
Q: Where are my favorites & collections?
A: During this transition to our new site, we’ve temporarily disabled access to favorites and collections. In the meantime, your data is safe. All your favorited designs and carefully curated collections are securely stored and will not be lost. This is a short-term measure as we integrate new features. We’re working diligently to reintroduce these popular features soon and will share as soon as they become available again.
Please note that once the new favorites and collections features become available, they will no longer be publicly accessible. Instead, they will be designed for personal use only. We have also removed favorites from your Artist Shop to keep customers focused on your own designs and to allow you to save your favorites for private inspiration.
Q: Have there been any changes to the Society6 product assortment?
A: Yes. As part of the site relaunch, we’re refining our product offerings to maintain the highest standards of quality for both our artists and customers
The following products are no longer available:
All Over Graphic Tees, Face Masks, Cropped Hoodies, Leggings, Ringer T-Shirts, Tank Tops, V-Neck T-Shirts, Kids Apparel, Yoga Towels, Acrylic Boxes, Can Coolers, iPad Folio Cases, iPhone Card Cases, iPhone Skins, iPhone Wallet Cases, Android Phone Cases, Floating Acrylic Prints
We’re thrilled to embark on this new chapter with you at Society6. We’re excited about the future and can’t wait to see how these changes will help showcase your incredible artwork and connect you with more customers. Your feedback has been instrumental in shaping these improvements, and we encourage you to keep sharing your thoughts with us. For questions or feedback, you can connect with our support team here.
We look forward to sharing more of the changes you’ve inspired very soon!
