The work of Kristopher Kotcher, aka Frenemy, is the kind that provokes nostalgia; back to the days of Saturday morning cartoons, comic books and imaginary friends. It’s a style that’s stuck with him from his childhood, and something he holds sacred: the importance of never growing up.
We travelled the world over to his home in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to learn about his rough upbringing in Texas, how overcoming his past informed his work as a graffiti artist and illustrator, and the communal nature of picking up a spray can that defies borders and language.
