Now on View: Filipe Losna

Simply stated, Now On View celebrates and showcases the artists of Society6 and their work. Get to know them—and then get lost in their gallery.

Who are you and what do you do? My name is Filipe and I’m a graphic designer who loves illustration.

Current city: Viseu, a small city in the center of Portugal.

How did you make these? I start with drawing and taking notes of ideas on my sketchbook. After that, it’s all digital. I refine the idea using a sketching app and a graphic tablet and when I’m happy with the concept and colors I create the final piece in a vector illustration app.

Why did you make these? I’m currently working as an in-house designer so in my spare time I like to work on projects that give me a little bit more freedom to explore and have fun. And also because at some point I would like to work on illustration full time.

What do people typically say about your work? Some people tell me they like my style because it’s different from what they are used to seeing, even if they’re not really into it. Sometimes they tell me it reminds them of some illustrator I really love. But the ones that can spot my influences and inspirations are the ones that surprise me.
