Simply stated, Now On View celebrates and showcases the artists of Society6 and their work. Get to know them—and then get lost in their gallery.

Who are you and what do you do? I’m Sabrena Khadija, an illustrator and designer who dabbles in art direction.

Current city: Brooklyn, NY

Clients: Facebook, Coca-Cola, Universal Studios Orlando Resort, and The Wrap Life, to name a few.

How did you make these? With my handy, dandy tablet. I primarily create digital illustrations for the ease of use and access. My iPad gives me the mobility to create anything anywhere and share it immediately. Digital art also gives me the flexibility to endlessly experiment with an illustration. I literally just sit down and play with lines, shapes, and colors until I make something I like.

Why did you make these? As an artist and woman of color, a lot of my work is focused on providing visibility to women who identify with that as well. I try to contribute to the representation I want to see more of in the art that we consume, so I’m constantly looking for fun, bold ways to create eye-capturing illustrations that can make others feel seen and inspired.

What’s been the most challenging part of creating, while life is happening? The biggest challenge can be time. When life is happening it can be difficult to find time to create the things you want to while dealing with the things you have to do. It can be a struggle, but I feel it’s really important to make creative pursuits an integral part of life. Even if I don’t have time, I never stop trying to make time.
