Simply stated, Now On View celebrates and showcases the artists of Society6 and their work. Get to know them—and then get lost in their gallery.
As a way of introducing yourself, who are you and what do you do?
Hello, I am Fernando Vieira, a self-taught artist completely dependent on digital media. I’m a guy who goes unnoticed in the crowd, but I like to stand out in art—only in art.
Current city:
Today, I live in São José dos Campos, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, but I’ve lived in eight different cities.
How did you make these?
My art is intuitive; digital media is indispensable for me to reach the final result, so Photoshop is the tool of every day.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Since I was little, the stains on the walls intrigued me. I’d imagine a thousand different shapes. I think about this every day—those shapes and images remain engraved in my mind and can be used to create a new work.
What is the best advice you’ve gotten as an artist or the most important thing you’ve learned?
The advice came from my daughter; basically, what I’ve learned is there is space for everyone—no matter what style, art fits anywhere.
