Simply stated, Now On View celebrates and showcases the artists of Society6 and their work. Get to know them—and then get lost in their gallery.
As a way of introducing yourself, who are you and what do you do?
My name is Kate Zaremba, and I am an artist who makes patterns for wallpaper, textiles and ceramics.
Current city:
Washington, DC
How did you make these?
This work has been made using a variety of mediums, from drawing and painting directly onto paper, to block printing and cutting paper.
Where do you draw your inspiration from?
I am an interior and textile design nerd, and I’m definitely inspired by the art and design world. I love objects and the history of those objects. Oh, and I LOVE color. Also, I come from a family of creators. My grandmother introduced me to painting and sewing early on, and my father is a musician and artist, who encouraged me to draw the world around me and express myself in whatever way came naturally. All of these things influence the work I make, either directly or indirectly.
What is the best advice you’ve gotten as an artist or the most important thing you’ve learned?
The most important thing I’ve learned along the way is that making a living as an artist is not a race to be won; it is a way of life.
