Simply stated, Now On View celebrates and showcases the artists of Society6 and their work. Get to know them—and then get lost in their gallery.

As a way of introducing yourself, who are you and what do you do?

My name is Taco Nakaguki and I’m a Japanese freelance illustrator/graphic designer. I mainly draw commercial illustrations or do design work for brands or businesses but I also create commissioned portrait illustrations. My visual mediums are vast from watercolor to acrylic to oil to collage.

Current city: Tokyo, Japan

How did you make these?

I mostly draw things using Procreate on my iPad with an Apple Pencil.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

I often draw inspiration for my surrealist artwork from my dreams. For my pattern works, I get inspiration from Midcentury modern interior design books or silhouettes of objects from my surroundings. Also, I’m a huge music lover so my music video obsession is another big source of my visual inspirations.

What is the best advice you’ve gotten as an artist or the most important thing you’ve learned?

Stay true to yourself.

Where can people find you?
