Introducing: New & Updated Apparel!

We’re so excited to announce our completely refreshed Apparel category! If you’ve been following along over the past few months, you probably noticed that we’ve added all-new products, styles, print locations, color options, kids apparel and more. Now is the time to refresh and review your existing Apparel products and enable your artwork on Apparel if you haven’t already. Keep reading for our top tips and an overview of all re-vamped products – don’t miss out on the opportunity to scale your Apparel business!

To-Dos & Tips for Apparel

1. Scale your assets to be full size on the edit page.

All of our Apparel tops now have a variety of print locations for customers to choose from (chest graphic, full front graphic, full back graphic, full back & chest graphic) and we do the scaling for you. If you previously scaled down assets on our old Apparel products, please revisit and scale them to be full size on the edit page in Artist Studio. This ensures that when customers select products with a chest graphic, it won’t be scaled down to be too small.

2. Double check that the product colors you have enabled work with your designs.

Make sure your artwork is visible! For example, avoid having a black artwork on a black Crewneck. You can easily de-select color options by visiting the edit page in Artist Studio.

3. Review your Pullover Hoodie assets.

Pullover Hoodies previously allowed for a vertical file that was 3300 x 5100 pixels. With the re-launch, we’ve updated the asset requirements to 4200 X 4200 pixels. By updating the requirement to a square file, this will prevent printing over the front pocket and allow for a higher quality product. The new square file requirement will ensure that your artwork is printed on the space above the pocket only. If you already had Pullover Hoodies enabled using an asset that meets the new asset requirement, they will remain available in your shop but we recommend reviewing all assets to ensure that the cropping is as desired.

4. Visit your Artist Studio to enable Sweatpants and all Kids Apparel. 

Most of our new Apparel products are style variants of existing products and therefore, are automatically enabled on your behalf if you already had certain existing Apparel products enabled. Sweatpants and all Kids products are not automatically enabled. Visit your Artist Studio today to add these products to your Apparel offerings!

5. For the best printing quality and appearance, upload a transparent PNG for all Apparel products. 

Simply put, transparent PNGs look best on Apparel. They allow for a “cut out” or “logo style” graphic by removing the background so that the main image or text can shine without showing the rectangular outline of the file. Learn more about JPEG vs PNGs here.

6. Enable matching sets. 

Customers love a matching moment! Consider enabling matching sets (sweatpants + tops) and mini and me matching sets (matching adult + kids sets). If you’re looking for matching set inspo, check out our collection here.

New & Updated Apparel Products: Action Required

Sweatpants

Visit your Artist Studio to enable Sweatpants in your Society6 shop! Pro Tip: Create matching sets by enabling designs on Sweatpants that complement your existing Crewnecks and Hoodies. Read our blog post for a technical walk through on enabling Sweatpants.

Kids Apparel

Kids is our newest category and includes the following Apparel products: Kids Crewnecks, Kids Hoodies, Kids Joggers, Kids T-Shirts and Kids Zip-Hoodies. Visit your Artist Studio to enable all Kids Apparel products!

Note: Please only enable artwork on Kids Apparel products that is suitable for children. 

Hoodies

Hoodies are one of our staple Apparel products but we’ve recently made some updates. Pullover Hoodies previously allowed for a vertical file that was 3300 x 5100 pixels. If your existing files for Hoodies meet the updated requirement, your Pullover Hoodies are already enabled but please review all of your Pullover Hoodie artwork to ensure that the cropping and placement is as desired. If your existing Hoodie artwork doesn’t meet the new asset requirement, your Pullover Hoodies will not be automatically enabled. In that case, please visit your Artist Studio to upload a new file that meets the asset requirement. Read our blog post for additional details on all updates made to Hoodies.

New & Updated Apparel Products: No Action Required

Ringer & Boxy T-Shirts

If you already have T-Shirts enabled, our all-new Ringer and Boxy T-Shirts will automatically be available in your shop! Ringer and Boxy T-Shirts are style variants of our Classic T-Shirts so they are not listed in your Artist Studio as stand-alone products. Adjustments or edits made to T-Shirts will apply to all T-Shirt styles (Classic, Ringer, and Boxy.) Read more about our newest T-Shirt styles here.

Cropped Hoodies

If you already have Hoodies enabled in your shop, Cropped Hoodies will automatically be available. Cropped Hoodies will be available to your customers as an option in the “style” dropdown menu of your existing Pullover Hoodies and no action is needed to enable them. Cropped Hoodies are a style variant of Pullover Hoodies so they are not listed in your Artist Studio as a standalone product. Adjustments or edits made to Pullover Hoodies will automatically be applied to Cropped Hoodies. Get more details about our Cropped Hoodies here.

Oversized Long Sleeve T-Shirts

Our all-new Oversized Long Sleeve T-Shirts feature a wider cut and higher neckline than our classic Long Sleeve T-Shirts. If you already have Long Sleeve T-Shirts enabled, Oversized Long Sleeves will automatically be available in your shop. Oversized Long Sleeve T-Shirts are a style variant of Long Sleeve T-Shirts so they are not listed in Artist Studio as a standalone product. Adjustments or edits made to Long Sleeve T-Shirts will also apply to Oversized Long Sleeve T-Shirts.
