Through the Lens
This Week in Photography
The sharp colors and angles shown in the photography of Jimoko create a striking visual moment in time. Hailing from Abuja, Nigeria, Jimoko transports viewers into a blend of locations with individuals from West African life.
Trending
Bold Bright Geometric
Centered around colorful, geometric shapes, there’s a special energy resonating from these bright works. It’s a sense of positivity, almost like an air of hope.
Color Story
Citrus Orange
The color is as energizing as the zest from its peel: citrus orange. A little trivia question: which one got its name first, the color or the fruit? …Okay, I don’t actually know. BUT, citrus orange is definitely a shade that commands a reaction.
Artist Spotlight
Camelia Pham | Florence, Italy
Working from her studio while she attends art school in Florence, Italy, Camelia Pham creates striking illustrations. Her dramatic layout and color choices make her a distinct illustrator, and I highly recommend paying attention to her daring work.
About the Curator
Hello there art friends. My name is Nathan Spoor, Head of Curation at Society6. I have over 25 years of experience as an art curator for galleries and museums, I’ve written for several prominent art publications and published three books on contemporary art. I’m also a painter and a member of one of the first groups of artists that took the plunge and joined Society6 in 2009. Since 2015, I’ve been the full-time Society6 curator, continuously thrilled to be on the forefront of surfacing so much amazing work, sharing rising artists, trending themes and color stories that spark inspiration and fuel the imagination.
Each day I dive into a sea of new art uploads on Society6, surrounded by a virtual treasure trove of artists from around the world sharing their original works paintings, photographs, illustrations and designs.
