Who are you and what do you do? I’m Camila Rosa and I’m an illustrator and visual artist from Brazil.
Current city: Sao Paulo, Brazil
Clients: Spotify, Nike, The Wall Street Journal, Refinery29, REI, Bust Magazine
How did you make these? Usually, I create based on something I want to explore, some topic or just some thought I can’t get away from my mind. So I do a sketch on an iPad or by hand and finalize it on Illustrator. That’s the way I like to work the most.
Why did you make these? I started to illustrate in 2010 and since then I feel that I found my mission in life. I do this because I think that’s my way to try to change things in the world I disagree with. My work is a way to expose my ideas and also a way to stand against the increasingly conservative mentality in the world.
What do people typically say about your work? That my work has a strong political view about the world and about the women universe. I always tried to use my art as a way to create political consciousness and I think people are realizing this now.
