Who are you and what do you do? I’m Rocío Montoya, photographer, collage artist and illustrator. I am also a graphic editor for a newspaper in my city and combine this work with the creation of my personal work and with commissions for clients.

How did you make these? I love using mixed techniques to compose my works, with my own images combined with illustrations, magazines and textures. The vast majority of my works are analog, but they are also made using digital processes.
Why did you make these? To explore the different facets of the human condition. I find it very interesting to deconstruct people, add symbols, play with colors and elements of the natural environment and generate poetic and disturbing atmospheres.
What do people typically say about your work? Some people believe that it is poetic and delicate. Others do not understand it very well … But in general I receive very constructive opinions.
